Syafa Mustaffa

Syafa Mustaffa is the Senior Manager of Strategic Communications at the Khazanah Research Institute (KRI), where she leads the institute’s branding, media relations, events, and communications strategies.
With experience across both the public and private sectors, Syafa brings expertise in branding, marketing, and strategic communications. She has led and contributed to key national initiatives including the National Bumiputera Roadmap, the Bumiputera SME Programme, and Malaysia’s participation at the COP29 climate change conference.
Before joining KRI, Syafa served as Senior Manager of Communications at PEMANDU Associates, where she successfully rebranded the firm from a government-linked entity into a boutique international consultancy focused on nation-building and transformation.Her creative and strategic work has earned her several accolades, including 5th place in the Roca Barcelona Master Design Challenge 2020, representing Malaysia, 1st place in the Roca One Day Design Challenge Kuala Lumpur 2019, and recognition in the Design Thinking Trailblazer Award 2019.
Syafa holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Architecture and Environmental Design from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and a Postgraduate in Architecture from The Glasgow School of Art, University of Glasgow. She is also a registered member of the Malaysia Board of Architects (LAM) and the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT)
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Architecture and Environmental Design from the International Islamic University of Malaysia and a Postgraduate in Architecture from the Glasgow School of Art, University of Glasgow.
