Dato’ Amirul Feisal Wan Zahir

Dato’ Amirul Feisal Wan Zahir (“Feisal”) is the Managing Director of Khazanah Nasional Berhad (“Khazanah”), the sovereign wealth fund of Malaysia. The fund is mandated to invest to deliver sustainable value for Malaysians by achieving long-term risk-adjusted returns, as well as viable high impact investments that catalyse new growth areas, strengthen Malaysia’s economic competitiveness, and generate priority socio-economic outcomes. Khazanah has investments in various sectors such as aviation, energy, financial, healthcare, infrastructure, leisure & tourism, real assets, technology, and telecommunications among others.

Dato’ Feisal joined Khazanah in July 2021. Previously, he was Group Chief Financial Officer of Malayan Banking Berhad (“Maybank”) since July 2016 and he was also the Group Head, Global Banking of Maybank from October 2014 until June 2016. Prior to Maybank, he joined Permodalan Nasional Berhad in 2010 as Executive Vice President of Special Projects and was seconded to Chemical Company of Malaysia Berhad, a public listed company, as Group Managing Director. In 2008, he was appointed as Managing Director, Head of Investment Banking for Maybank Investment Bank where he was responsible for the Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Equity Capital Markets and Private Equity Divisions. He had also served as Executive Director at BinaFikir Sdn Bhd from 2004 to 2008.

Dato’ Feisal is currently the Chairman of Iskandar Investment Berhad, Yayasan Khazanah and Amanah Warisan Negara (“AWAN”). He also serves as a Trustee of Yayasan Hasanah, a Director of Malaysia Aviation Group Berhad, Malaysia Airlines Berhad, and Gateway Development Alliance Sdn Bhd, and is a Member of Authority for the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (“IRDA”).

Dato’ Feisal is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales, a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, and a Chartered Banker, Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers.
