Roundtable Discussion: Schools and Mental Health
“Every child deserves to feel safe and supported.”
With the recent rise in unprecedented cases of bullying and assaults in schools, Khazanah Research Institute (KRI) convened a special roundtable, “School & Mental Health,” on 29 October 2025 under the Making Education Relevant in the Current World (MERICW) initiative.
Mental health remains a sensitive and often stigmatised topic, especially among children and adolescents. The roundtable aimed to shed light on the issue, identify root causes, and explore ways to create safer, more supportive environments for young people.
Discussions highlighted the importance of collective action in addressing mental health challenges in schools, reminding us that protecting young minds requires awareness, empathy, and collaboration.
