
Reshaping Real Estate: Innovations and Inclusivity in a Digital World
As the real estate sector evolves, collaboration between research, policy, and professionals is becoming increasingly crucial.
On 12–13 May 2026, our Director of Research, Dr. Suraya Ismail attended the International Real Estate Research Symposium (IRERS) 2026. The event, themed “Reshaping Real Estate: Innovations and Inclusivity in a Digital World” was held at World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur.
The symposium brought together academics, policymakers, and real estate professionals to exchange insights on the future of real estate and urban development in Malaysia and beyond. Discussions focused on emerging market trends and sustainable development. They also highlighted how research can better support policy and industry decisions.
The plenary sessions featured distinguished speakers and industry leaders, including Datuk Sr Mohd. Salem Kailany, Group Chief Executive Officer of KLCC (Holdings) Sdn. Bhd.; Prof. Helen Xiaohui Bao, Professor at the University of Cambridge; Dr. Suraya Ismail, Director of Research at Khazanah Research Institute; Prof. Sr Ts Dr Abdul Hadi Nawawi, Professor at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM); Sr Adzman Shah Mohd Ariffin, Chief Real Estate Consultant and CEO of ExaStrata Solutions Sdn Bhd; and Azlan Kamal Ibrahim Kamal, representing Pelaburan Hartanah Berhad (PHB). Their sessions shared valuable perspectives on innovation, inclusivity, and the evolving landscape of the real estate industry.
