Malaysia's Semiconductor Talent Pipeline

Malaysia's semiconductor ambitions need more than investment, they need talent.

Our Associate Director, Yin Shao Loong, participated as a panellist in a discussion on Malaysia’s semiconductor talent pipeline, organised by Bait Al Amanah and Strategic Counsel at UCSI.

The discussion explored the talent challenges and opportunities arising from Malaysia’s growing semiconductor industry, including the skills, capabilities and talent pipeline needed to support the sector’s continued development. As Malaysia seeks to strengthen its position in the global semiconductor value chain, ensuring that the industry’s growth translates into meaningful opportunities for Malaysians will become increasingly important.

At KRI, we have been exploring and will continue to examine the intersection between the semiconductor industry and rakyat wellbeing, from job availability, quality and security to career progression and the alignment between industry demand and the skills of our workforce. As the industry grows, an important question is how Malaysians can meaningfully participate in and benefit from this growth, including through stronger connections between talent, education and industry needs.
