“Understanding the world today requires more than numbers, it demands clarity amid uncertainty.”

On 21 November, Khazanah Research Institute (KRI), in collaboration with INCEIF University and the Asia School of Business (ASB), hosted a distinguished public lecture featuring Professor Joseph E. Stiglitz, Nobel Laureate in Economics, University Professor at Columbia University, and Chief Economist of the Roosevelt Institute.

In his lecture: Navigating the New World Disorder A View from the Dismal Science, Professor Stiglitz unpacked the forces reshaping the global economy from widening inequality and shifting geopolitical dynamics to the rapid technological and AI-driven transformations redefining how societies grow and prosper. His insights illuminated the challenges and possibilities facing nations as they navigate an increasingly complex world.

The session was moderated by Dr. Nungsari Ahmad Radhi, Chairman of Khazanah Research Institute, who enriched the conversation with thoughtful perspectives and an engaging dialogue during the Q&A.

Bringing together researchers, students, policymakers, and members of the public, this collaborative lecture created a rare opportunity to hear directly from one of the world’s most influential economic thinkers. This is also the time to reflect on how nations like Malaysia can steer towards a future of shared progress and resilience.
